Recently one of the highest calibre trainers at Gymbox Farringdon was removed from their post due to an altercation with a member. We, as members of Gymbox, many of us regular attendees at Nima's classes would like you to re-consider this decision.

Nima is a valuable asset to the class timetable. A testament to this is the speed at which his classes are fully booked and the number of members who turn up on a regular basis in the hope free places will become available. His absence would be of severe detriment to the portfolio of classes on offer and the standard of training available which is the unique selling point of Gymbox over many other gyms.

We recognise that we have not been part of the discussions which led to his dismissal and would like to open up a dialogue. We are aware it was due to an altercation with a member. For some time a select group of members have been causing issues in Gymbox provided classes which use the frame area. The spatial distribution in the new gym is appalling and a definite health and safety risk. Areas are not separated appropriately as there are few barriers, and those that exist are inadequate. They are easily movable, frequently and purposefully displaced to encroach onto the frame area for the benefit of this select group (past their allotted times). Additionally, they are constantly disregarded with the aforementioned group working in the frame area and refusing to move, with the Gymbox classes having to work around them. It is these very issues that led to the safety of a member of the Frame Fitness class being called into question when a member of the select group in the parallel section started dropping weights increasingly close to their head and this same issue that led to the interaction involving Nima. On many occasions members of Gymbox classes have requested the members of this specific group move from the track or the frame area to allow space for the class only to be met with rude and aggressive responses. More recently the same group of members have taken to deliberately placing equipment in the area including rowing machines and free-weights in what seems to be a policy of intimidation. Therefore more generally we would also like to propose that health and safety of current practices is re-evaluated due to the risk it poses to members.
