In Jackson Township, miniature horses are classified as agricultural animals, and if in a residential area, must always stay at least fifty feet away from all property lines. A miniature horse is, at the tallest, thirty-eight inches tall. Great Danes can reach over forty-two inches tall, and they don't have to stay fifty feet away from all property lines. As long as the immediate neighbors (those whose property borders the lot intended for the miniature horse(s) to live on) approve, and while full-size horses may be a different matter, miniature horses (horses thirty-six inches and under from front hoof to the top of the head) should be permitted to live on residential property if remaining three feet away from all property lines.
